THE ADVANTAGES OF STOTT PILATES®
STOTT PILATES® guides you through a journey of movement, form and strength. It is based on five basic biomechanical principles and a strong rehabilitation programme to help you reach your goals and rebalance your muscular systems.
Many sport professionals include Pilates in their fitness regime to prevent damage from injury. Although the approach is challenging enough for athletes, it is also gentle and safe for people with chronic pain or in rehabilitation. In fact, STOTT PILATES® is ideal for anyone of any age looking to maintain a healthy body and improve fitness and posture.
Developed by physiotherapists, STOTT PILATES® features a wider equipment repertoire than other methods, with more sequences, modifications and variations and the flexibility to adjust the equipment and resistance to suit different torso and leg lengths perfectly. This means your exercises are completely calibrated to suit your ability.
Five basic principles of STOTT PILATES®
Reformer Pilates using the STOTT method holds the key to achieving balance between mind and body, with small classes of no more than four.
It is more than just a work out: it is about improving health and wellbeing. The reformer equipment and movements use resistance from different directions to restore the natural curves of the spine, target and rebalance muscle, and help regain lost movement.
Five basic biomechanical principles help you learn how to breathe properly and position your body correctly for maximum benefit:
Breathing
Pelvic placement
Rib cage placement
Scapular movement
Head & neck placement
